Luigi, Capitol launch milk feeding program

-

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth district Rep. Gabriel "Luis" Quisumbing in cooperation with the provincial government yesterday launched "Supplemental Milk" feeding program.

The launch was witnessed yesterday by Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, Consolacion town Mayor Theresa Alegado, and Felodonio Sitoy, the ABC president of Cordova town, and some barangay captains from the district.

Magpale said that since the province has already exhausted its budget for its feeding program, she, being the provincial head of the Protection of Women and Children committee, urges all congressmen in the district to allot a portion of their Priority Development Assistance Program (PDAF) in order to sustain the feeding program, which the province initiated two years ago.

Rep. Quisumbing yesterday said P1.5 million has been allotted for the continuation of the feeding program.

Quisumbing said at least 200 children aged three to four years old in each barangay in the district will benefit from the feeding program which will run for 120 days.

He also said he is looking forward to extending the program. (FREEMAN)
