CDU student stabbed, robbed of his iPhone

CEBU, Philippines - One of two robbers stabbed a student of Cebu Doctors' University at the Reclamation Area in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City who is taking up radio technology for refusing to part with his cellular phone.

Mario Chan, 18, of San Carlos, Negros Occidental, who is taking up radio technology, said that at around 11:30 a.m. the other day, he went out of the school premises to have a report photocopied at a nearby store.

Later, he went home on foot, his boarding house being in the neighborhood.

While walking along Larrazabal Street, two men on an XRM motorcycle with no plate number appeared.

The passenger got off and approached him to ask for the time.

After saying he had no watch, the man declared a holdup and asked for his iPhone worth P30,000.

The man drew out a knife and started to stab Chan when he refused to give up the phone, sustaining wounds on the back, right arm, and stomach. He was taken to the Cebu Doctors' Hospital.

The robbers fled with his phone. (FREEMAN)
