Firemen complain about narrow roads

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Fire department yesterday attributed the delay in extinguishing the fire in sitio Basubas, Mandaue City Tuesday to narrow roads leading to the interior portion of the area and suggested that residents install water pipes to make up for the absence of fire hydrants.

SFO2 Roy Garcia also urged barangay officials to clear the roads of vendors.

“Naglisud mi gumikan kay hagip-ot na kaayu ang dan padung sa sud. Naa pa dyuy gagmayng mga lamesa sa mga mamaligyaay,” Garcia said.

He also advised residents to stop patronizing “octopus connections.”

“Labaw sa tanan kinahanglan mabantayon ta gumikan sa kainit rong panahona,” he said.
