Lapu-Lapu SP Okays P610K for "Rampada's" prizes
CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City Council has approved the release of P610,000 for cash prizes for winners in this year’s “Rampada,” one of the features in the city’s “Kadaugan Street Party.”
The city council has authorized Mayor Paz Radaza to release the amount.
The city of Lapu-Lapu will commemorate the victory of Datu Lapu-Lapu by holding a reenactment of the historic “Battle of Mactan,” now called “Kadaugan sa Mactan.”
“Kadaugan” is one of the means to promote tourism in the city.
Culminating the week-long festivities on April 28 is the “Rampada,” a street dance festival that will be joined by at least 22 contingents in the open and barangay divisions.
Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Radaza said the giving of prizes would motivate people to compete.
