Naga and Cabadbaran to forge ties Wednesday
CEBU, Philippines - The City of Naga is slated to sign a sisterhood agreement with Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte Wednesday next week.
Naga City Mayor Valdemar Chiong and Cabadbaran City Mayor Dale Corvera will sign the agreement at the Naga City hall.
Following the signing are a short program, which includes the presentation of Naga’s Dagitab Festival, and a fellowship dinner.
The sisterhood agreement was approved by the council last month
through a resolution authored by Councilor Vincie Delmar, chairman on
council committee on good government.
Like Naga, Cabadbaran is one of the 16 cities affected by the Cityhood Laws which constitutionality was assailed by the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP).
Naga had earlier forged ties with Batac, Ilocos Norte, also of the 16 cities.
Chiong said he hopes to form sisterhood ties with the rest of the 16
cities especially that the League of Cities of the Philippines has
still not acknowledged them.
Forging ties is regarded as a way to boost relationships with one another, Chiong said. - THE FREEMAN
