Boy drowns in well

CEBU, Philippines - A one-year-old child drowned in a well located a few meters from his parents’ house in sitio Cassiri, barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, yesterday morning.

PO1 Gerard Rollon of the Talisay City Police Station said James Kyle Cabisas Saroda, 1 year and 9 months, was rushed to the Talisay District Hospital but was decared dead on arrival.

Based on the initial investigation of the TCPS’s homicide section, James Kyle’s mother, Rhea, was doing the laundry at the well, a stone’s throw away from their house, with her son at her side.

When her task was done, Rhea with her laundry in tow, went home with the boy. Little did Rhea know that her son went back to the well.

SPO1 Mikie Espina, who was among those who responded, said the child was last seen playing near the well with his other siblings and a cousin.

Minutes later Rhea discovered that her son was missing.

She saw Jame Kyle floating on the water down the well, with his abdomen already bloated. – (FREEMAN)
