Woman from Liloan gypped
CEBU, Philippines - A 27-year-old woman was tricked by another woman into giving up her cash and valuables in exchange for a bag full of “money.”
Teresita Pepito, of sitio Cogon, barangay Poblacion, Liloan town lost a gold necklace worth P7,000, a pair of gold earrings valued at P3,500, and a P2,300-cellular phone.
SPO3 Ernesto Pepito Jr, of the Liloan Police Station said the woman had just alighted from a jeepney when another woman approached her to ask for help.
The woman told Teresita Pepito to turn over her valuables to her and she in turn would leave her a bag full of money. The woman promised to return to claim her bag and return the cash and valuables to Teresita Pepito.
When Teresita Pepito got tired of waiting for hours, she opened the bag only to find pieces of paper.
SPO3 Pepito said swindlers pounce on persons who appear to be vulnerable.
“Muduol na sila nga magpaluoy-luoy unya kung musakay ang biktima mao nana siya,” Ernesto said.
