Man arrested for gun possession

CEBU, Philippines - After Jonathan Flores, 27, single, a resident of sitio Sto. Niño in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City was arrested yesterday morning for gun possession, the police discovered he has a pending arrest warrant for stealing the motorcycle of a policeman in 2009.

SPO4 Alex Pepito lost a black Yamaha Vega (plate No. 5045-YE) while this was parked at his residence in March 25, 2009.

At the Investigative Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) Office, Flores admitted having stolen the cop’s motorcycle.

He then told Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos that the motorcycle is being kept in the house of a cohort in barangay Umapad.

Police found the motorcycle in the house of Richard Arbiol, 25, in barangay Umapad already dismantled.

But the owner recognized still remembered the engine’s number.

Arbiol told police Benjie Salcedo, 24, married, of barangay Opao, Mandaue City was also involved in the crime.

The police are preparing charges against Flores, Arbiol, and Salcedo.
