Truck catches wires, drags electrical poles

-

CEBU, Philippines - While traveling in barangay Langtad in Naga City early yesterday morning, a prime mover loaded with heavy equipment caught cables and electrical wires and consequently dragged with it electrical poles belonging to the Visayan Electric Company (Veco).

Joel Matuza of the office of Mayor Valdemar Chiong said no one got the truck’s plate number, given the fact that the incident took place at around 1 a.m.

Cables and electrical wires that dangled from above and the poles that littered the highway caused hours of heavy traffic in Langtad.

The neighboring areas had no electricity as of noontime yesterday.

Matuza said the flow of vehicular traffic went back to normal after the poles were moved aside, and the dangling wires were supported with lumber.  (FREEMAN)
