MCPO launches three community programs

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office launched yesterday morning three community programs, namely, Pulis Nyo Po sa Barangay, E-Blotter system, and informative crime prevention posters and stickers.

Yesterday’s activity was a joint program of the MCPO and the Mandaue City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). In attendance were MCCI president Eric Mendoza and Police Regional Office-7 Deputy director P C/Supt. Samuel Yordan.

The “Pulis nyo  po sa barangay” is a community program which emphasizes the importance of the trilateral partnership of the local executive government, the police, and the community.

MCPO director P S/Supt. Noel Gillamac said the program specifies that each policeman will be detailed to each of the 27 barangays.

Yordan, who is also the guest speaker, said the E-Blotter is a system developed by Camp Crame the purpose of which is to modernize the data storage and the quick transmission of data from the national headquarters down to the police stations.

Yordan said the E-blotter system would make it easier for anyone to scan the blotter. In the past scanning the logbook took a while.

Part of yesterday’s program was the distributions of stickers to jeepneys and taxis.

The stickers bear the cellular phone numbers of policemen and police stations. – (FREEMAN)
