Boy electrocuted at beach resort
CEBU, Philippines - A 12-year-boy was electrocuted Sunday morning when he touched a live wire that was used to secure construction materials inside resort hotel in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
The construction materials are owned by the Quest-Air Technology Philippines, a contractor currently doing renovation work at the resort.
The police said the boy and three other children tried to enter the barracks of the construction firm that had a fence made of laminated sacks.
According to the boy’s companions, the 12-year-old dug a hole and crawled towards the barracks when he touched the live wire. The live wire immediately sparked while the boy shook.
Witnesses who saw the incident cut the main line of the live wire and tried to save the boy.
He was declared dead on arrival at the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.
