Mayor defends husband against COA statement
CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza has refuted statements made by the Commission on Audit that her husband, Rep. Arturo O. Radaza, has failed to get projects done in the lone district of Lapu-Lapu City.
The mayor said unlike other congressmen, it is customary of her husband to carry out projects without having to make announcements such as putting up multi-purpose buildings in the different barangays of Olango Island.
Mayor Radaza said the congressman had also initiated road repairs and road concreting projects in the city.
She said Rep. Radaza also extended medical assistance to the needy.
“Nakita man gud ni Mayor Boy sa dihang siya pa ang mayor sa dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu nga ang nag-una nga problema mao gayud ang tambal kon aduna kita’y mga kaigsoonan nga madala sa tambalanan, mao nga gitagad kini niya sa pagka karon,” the mayor said.
The Department of Budget and Management has reported that Rep. Radaza had allocated P7 million from his Priority Development Assistance Fund and deposited this in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for the purchase of medicines for indigent patients admitted to the government-run hospital.
