Human bones, woman's clothing found in Talisay

CEBU, Philippines - Human skeletal remains were found by a resident of barangay Manipis, Talisay City last Feb. 27 but was only reported to the barangay yesterday morning.

Insp. Rio Hugo Ipong, Talisay City Police Station, said arm, thigh, and lower leg bones were placed inside a sack.

The head or skull was missing.

With the bones were a sweatshirt and woman’s clothing.

Police theorized the sack could have been flung over a cliff near a river in sitio Layugon.

Astelio Baynos, who was collecting firewood at the time, discovered the human bones.

Based on the initial investigation of the police, about three years ago, some people from Toledo City went to the area to look for a missing relative.

The police are now looking into its records for missing persons.

Crime Scene Investigation of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) now has custody of the bones.  (FREEMAN)
