Not enough stalls for all vendors at Lapu-Lapu market
CEBU, Philippines - Too many vendors do business outside the Lapu-Lapu City public market that they cannot be accommodated by the market once it opens after repairs are done.
An inventory conducted by the city government found out that the number of vendors had already exceeded the number appropriate for the size of the market by 30 percent.
The inventory showed some vendors have acquired two stalls for each of them and some families have acquired stalls for each of their family members.
To resolve the problem, Mayor Paz Radaza ordered the elimination of the “double entry “ to give others the chance to avail of stalls.
The public market, which started its renovations last year, will soon open the first and second floors. (FREEMAN)
