Trader robbed

CEBU, Philippines - At least P500,000 in cash and jewelry was stolen Thursday night from the house of a businessman in barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

Antonio Araneta, 53, according to his daughter, lost P300,000 and pieces of jewelry believed to be worth more than P200,000.

Case investigator SPO4 Daniel Tarucan said Araneta was away on a business trip when his house was robbed.

Upon his return, Araneta saw the cabinet, where he keeps his valuables, already destroyed.

Tarucan said he did not notice signs of forced entry.

Tarucan said people who work for Araneta may be invited for questioning.  (FREEMAN)
