Sesbreño killing Family offers P50,000 reward

CEBU, Philippines - The family of the slain Virginia Sesbreño has offered to give a P50,000 reward to anyone who can give information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects in the ambush carried out early this month.

Virginia, wife of lawyer Raul Sesbreño, and two others were killed by persons on a motorcycle last February 1 at the Cebu South Coastal Road, barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.

Supt. Eddie Recamara, chief of the Talisay City Police Station said the suspects have been identified positively by witnesses.

Authorities and even Sesbreño himself believe the killing could be related to the demolition of some 40 houses in Borromeo Estate in barangays Lawaan I and II.

Sesbreño had long since tried to evict these families living in a vast property which he claims as his.

It was Sesbreño’s son Peter who offered the reward last weekend.

The police will file criminal charges against the suspects, Recamara said.
