Lapu-Lapu village head slams city hall
CEBU, Philippines - A Lapu-Lapu City barangay captain yesterday said the delivery of basic services to the people is suffering because of politics.
Barangay Agus captain Remegio “Bo” Oyao told The FREEMAN that the city government has failed to support his barangay.
To begin with, Oyao said health personnel from the city government assigned to health centers were recently withdrawn by city hall.
He said majority of the members of the barangay council continue to block his projects.
Because of this, the barangay has failed to approve its annual budget and that it has been more than three months now that officials, tanods, and other workers in the barangay hall have not received their salaries.
He criticized city hall for appointing former barangay captain Joven Lauron as barangay coordinator.
Oyao alleged Lauron had once attached his signature on papers he (Oyao) had already signed.
He said the people will suffer if the prevailing state of affairs goes on. - THE FREEMAN
