Police ID body found in Talisay

-

CEBU, Philippines - Police identified yesterday morning the body of man that was dumped the other day in the mountain barangay of Manipis, Talisay City.

SPO4 Daniel Tarucan, investigator of the case, said the body belonged to a 17-year-old resident of barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.

He was identified yesterday by his relatives.

Tarucan said the juvenile was a suspect in the robbery of a money lending establishment in sitio Mahayahay, barangay Candulawan, Talisay City and in a murder that was committed in the same place.

Both incidents happened last year but no case was filed against him. He immediately fled after allegedly committing the crimes and witnesses reportedly refused to coordinate with the police.

Tarucan said the juvenile was notorious in his neighborhood.

Based on the investigation conducted by Tarucan and his men, last Wednesday a group of youngsters came to the house of the juvenile to invite him to a birthday party, but at that time he was not at home.

On that evening of the same day, the same people came back and found him at home.

It was early the next morning when it was reported that an unidentified man was found along the road of sitio Manipis.

The investigator said the motive for the crime could stem from an old grudge or quarrel with a friend.
