Possible 'salvage' victim found in Manipis, Talisay

-

CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified man was found dead along the road of barangay Manipis, Talisay City at 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning.

The residents who found the body have theorized that the man was already dead when it was brought to the neighborhood.

The dead man was believed to be around 18 to 22 years old, dressed in a pair of blue short pants and a t-shirt.

He bore a gunshot wound on the back of the head, the bullet exiting from the left nostril, and two more gunshot wounds on his back.

Investigator SPO4 Daniel Tarucan said a certain Merly Collado, a resident of the place, reportedly heard the sound of a passing motorcycle at around 1 a.m. that day.

The driver of the motorcycle reportedly had a companion, who was heard arguing with him.

Moments later, after the motorcycle had passed their area, Collado said she heard three gunshots.

She said after the gunshots, the motorcycle’s engine was turned off, and was later on revived five minutes later and then sped off to the direction of Poblacion.

At 5:00 a.m., Collado said she went to the place where the gunshots were heard, and discovered blood on the road and the body of the unidentified man slumped to the ground.

The police recovered two bullet slugs at the crime scene.

Tarucan said the body is being autopsied. - THE FREEMAN
