Drug suspect falls

CEBU, Philippines - A 45-year-old woman believed to be engaged in selling shabu was arrested during a raid in sitio Tunga, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City dawn yesterday.

Elsa Cabantugan, a resident of the said barangay, is now detained at the Talisay City detention cell pending the filing of charges against her.

It was a team composed of PO3 Arnold Damasco, PO2 Roy Lofranco, PO2

Reynaldo Hoybia and PO1 Euwen Pitogo that arrested Cabantugan. The team was armed with a warrant issued by Branch 57 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC).

Cabantugan, for her part, denied the allegation against her.

Police records reveal that it was Cabantugan’s second arrest, the first being in 2007. She was, however, acquitted by the court last year. – (FREEMAN)
