CEBU, Philippines - Vehicle traffic in Mandaue City will undergo rerouting starting tomorrow with the launch of the Panagtagbo Festival.
Panagtagbo is the Cebuano term for Traslacion. The Panagtagbo festival is a re-enactment through dance of the meeting of the Blessed Sr. Sto. Niño and his parents Mary and Joseph in the city.
The Panagtagbo Festival is a project of the Mandaue City government in coordination with the Taga-Mandaue Inc., a non-government organization. The festival will be launched at the City Hall at 3pm. Starting at 1pm tomorrow, A. Soriano Avenue corner SB Cabahug Street will be closed to vehicle traffic. Vehicles will not also be allowed to enter A. del Rosario Street corner B. Ceniza Street, as well as SB Cabahug Street corner M. Sanchez Street.
Other Streets that will be closed for vehicle traffic include P. Gomez Street corner B. Ceniza Street, SB Cabahug Street corner AC Cortes Avenue, Burgos corner M. Sanchez Street, P. Gomez Street corner P. Burgos Street, Zamora Street corner Burgos Street, and C. Ouano Street corner Plaridel Street.
Tricycles from P. Burgos Street shall turn right to M. Sanchez Street then turn right to SB Cabahug Street toward their respective destinations.
All jeepneys from the new market heading to Ibabao shall take P. Burgos Street and turn left to M. Sanchez Street then turn right to SB Cabahug Street toward their destinations.
Meanwhile, all jeepneys from the old market going north shall Take B. Ceniza Street, turn right to A. Soriano Avenue, take a U-turn at the U-Turn slot then turn right toward the new market toward their destinations.
All jeepneys from the north going to the Centro area shall take AC Cortes Avenue, turn right to Plaridel Street then turn right to A. Soriano Avenue toward their destinations.– /JMO (FREEMAN)
