CEBU, Philippines - A head, already in a state of decomposition, was unearthed by a resident in sitio Camp 5, barangay Camp 4, Talisay City the other day.
SPO4 Daniel Tarucan, who was among those who responded to the alarm, said it was Ludivina Emoricha, 48, who found the head while picking up pieces of wood in the area.
Police believed that the head was dumped there several weeks ago, and that police can’t identify the gender of the owner.
Barangay chief Luciano Cabingatan said that in early December last year, while they were repairing their water pipe, they smelled something awful but paid no heed to it.
The Talisay City Police Station has already sought the help of the Crime Scene Investigation of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) for an in depth investigation of the case.
Meanwhile, the head was subjected to an autopsy to find out its gender.
In May last year, a skull was also unearthed by a resident in the neighboring village of Manipis. (FREEMAN)
