Couple loses cash, phones to four men

CEBU, Philippines - Four unidentified men on motorcycles held up a couple yesterday dawn in barangay Mohon, Talisay City and fled with cash and valuables.

Couple Riza, 28, and Jeffrey Empuerto, 29, went to the Talisay City Police Station in barangay Poblacion to report the robbery.

Riza said the men took her shoulder bag which contained a Samsung Galaxy phone and another phone (a Motorola), all worth P14,000; P1,500, a BPI credit card, a Metro Bank credit card, a BPI ATM card, a Union Bank ATM card, two SSS ID cards, a health card, a Lexmark ID card, and a cellphone charger.

Police said Jeffrey went with his wife to a street corner to wait for a ride that would take her to her workplace when four men on board two motorcycles appeared.

Jeffrey said two men got off the vehicles and one of them pointed a gun at them and told Riza to hand over her bag.

When they got the bag, the men immediately fled toward the lower part of barangay Mohon. – (FREEMAN)
