Vice Mayor Bercede tells water refilling stations to protect consumers' interests
CEBU, Philippines - Bercede told members of the water refilling operators in Mandaue City that the increasing number of traders engaged this business endangers the welfare of the public because some are forced to lower their price and sacrifice the quality of the water.
The vice mayor said now that they have organized themselves, he hopes that they can control their pricing.
More than 100 water refilling stations presently operate in the different barangays of Mandaue City.
Bercede said the city council will closely coordinate with the City Health Department and the water refilling operators themselves.
