LGUs express gratitude to senators Pia, Alan for medical assistance
CEBU, Philippines - Barangay officials in Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay cities and neighboring towns yesterday expressed their thanks to Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and his sister Senator Pia Cayetano during a meeting with Rey Martinez, Senator Alan Cayetano’s manager for political affairs for the Visayas.
Martinez visited different barangays in Metro Cebu and distributed referral letters for medical assistance for indigent patients admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
First district provincial board member Julian Daan told The FREEMAN that hundreds of residents in the district have benefited from the medical assistance extended by Senators Alan and Pia Cayetano.
Daan said many patients admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center can’t afford before to buy medicines.
“ Karon nakuhaan na gayud ang ilang problema gumikan sa programa nga gilusad sa managsoon nga senador,” Daan said.
Daan said the medical assistance is a big help to the people of the first district.
He said Sibonga Mayor Lionel Bacaltos and barangay captains have also expressed their thanks.
Barangay Captain Nelson Rubio of Umapad in Mandaue City is also happy for the assistance extended to his village.
Rubio said a number of indigent residents in his barangay need medical assistance.
“Dako gayud kaayo og tabang sa mga kabus kining programa sa managsoon nga senador,” said Rubio.
Barangay Captain Bingol Villo of Tayud in Consolacion town also received medical assistance.
In Consolacion town, Mayor Teresa Alegado also received the same assistance.
Some barangay captains can avail of P10 thousand to P20,000 worth of medical assistance while mayors P50,000 to P100,000.
