Mandaue plans to buy more fire trucks, equipment

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government is contemplating buying additional fire trucks and fire fighting equipment in view of fire that destroyed Gaisano South Mall in Cebu City, which prompted Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes to review the existing fire fighting equipment of the fire department.

Mayor Cortes has directed city administrator James Abadia to take a look at the fire department.

The city experienced a big fire last month that destroyed houses near Butuanon River and in Barangay Banilad.

With the opening of four malls in Mandaue City recently, Cortes believes the fire department needs attention from the city. – (FREEMAN)
