Liloan, Consolacion send money to typhoon victims
CEBU, Philippines - The towns of Consolacion and Liloan joined other local government units in Cebu in extending financial assistance to the typhoon victims in Cagayan De Oro City and Iligan City in Mindanao.
The municipal council of Consolacion during a special session approved the release of P300,000, to be divided into three parts, CDO, Iligan, and Dumaguete to get P100,000 each.
Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado, on the other hand, has urged the residents in the town to send used clothing and food.
She also asked the different barangay officials to facilitate the donations.
In Liloan, Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco announced that the municipal government has allocated P300,000 for the typhoon victims in Cagayan De Oro City and Iligan City, P200,000 will be sent to CDO, while P100,000 will go to Iligan.
Aside from the money, Frasco said used clothing collected from the barangays will also be sent.
He also said Titay’s Rosquillos had also sent donations to the victims.
All donations will be facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare Office. (FREEMAN)
