Mandaue treats indigent kids to Christmas party

CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City threw a party for 650 indigent children from 27 barangays at the Mandaue City Sports Complex yesterday.

The children received gifts that included rice, slippers, and other things courtesy of the Kaabag Foundation, which used part of the proceeds from the city’s Horror booths for the party and gifts.

Sarah Cortes, wife of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, helped distribute the gifts.

The annual horror booths earned P700,000, but after the honorariums were given to actors and other participants, the net income totaled P269,000.

P200,0000 thousand was spent in yesterday’s party.

The Kaabag Foundation is a non-government organization founded in 2007 by Mayor Jonas Cortes himself. (FREEMAN)
