'Guardians' back Mandaue in campaign vs criminality

CEBU, Philippines -  The Guardians Brotherhood Inc. in Mandaue City has assured its support to Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and the police in the fight against criminality.

National Founder Bob Malazarte who is also the founder of the group's chapter in Mandaue told The FREEMAN that they accepted the challenge of Mayor Cortes to assist the police in maintaining peace and order in the city.

Malazarte said most of their members are working in different companies in Mandaue City and they are willing to assist the police in intelligence gathering.

Cortes earlier urged the members of the Guardians Brotherhood Inc.-Mandaue Chapter to help preserve peace and order in the city.

Cortes was invited to the group's family gathering and Christmas Party during which the mayor said he will create the “Bantay Mandaue” that will be tasked to help the police in intelligence gathering.
