Car salesman robbed, killed

CEBU, Philippines - A 37-year-old car salesman was stabbed to death allegedly by friends he was drinking with Friday evening at A. C. Cortes Ave., barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

Neil Leyson, a resident of sitio Kalubihan barangay Talamban, Cebu City was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital due to multiple stab wounds in the stomach and chest. 

Police identified the alleged assailants as Edemar Penosa, of legal age with no registered address and Jimboy Alterado, 17, both residents of barangay Looc, Mandaue City, both are reported to be members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity.

Opao police station chief Wilson Abot said witnesses said prior to the incident death, Leyson, who is alleged to be a gay man, was dating Alterado, who is alleged to be one of the killers, at a skywalk in the area.

Abot said both alleged killers had already planned to rob Leyson.

At the skywalk, Alterado walked behind Leyson and took his wallet from his back pocket, prompting Leyson to run after him.

Leyson got back his wallet but Alterado stabbed him twice.

Penosa and Alterado were arrested at 6 a.m. yesterday in the town.

Penosa and Alterado, who are now detained at the Opao police station, told police they threw away Leyson’s wallet somewhere and only P500 was left from the money they took from him.

Abot said the police are yet to determine how much money was taken from Leyson. (FREEMAN)
