School execs attend conference in Manila

CEBU, Philippines - Three school officials in the sixth district attended the 3rd Manila Conference on the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect: Ako ay Para sa bata (I AM FOR THE CHILD) last December 5 to December 7 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila. 

At the conference were Cirila Ceniza, the south district supervisor of DepEd Mandaue City, Martiniano Gervise, the principal of Tugbungan Elementary School in Consolacion town and Racel Tura of the  Cordova Central School in Cordova town. 

Sixth district Rep. Luis Gabriel Quisumbing said his office sponsored the trip and accommodation of the school officials for the reason that they would get the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge on the different issues and challenges concerning children such as instilling values in children, preventing child neglect, and child endangerment, and the establishment of safe havens for children in times of disasters and areas of disasters.
