Japan-based Rotary Club donates pianicas to pupils

CEBU, Philippines - A Japan-based Rotary Club yesterday donated seventy pianicas to the Mactan Elementary School in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

School principal Plutarco Decogallacion, Jr., teachers, and pupils welcomed members of the Suwako Rotary Club (Nagano Ken) who brought with them 70 pianicas.

Suwako Rotary Club of Japan president Masateru Mimura was represented by Koji Mizoguchi, the club chairman for International and Social Service Committee.

He was accompanied by Kenji Nishizawa, Masanao Nagasaki, Motoi Akahane, Yohshinori Watanabe, and Kenji Hayashi, a music teacher.

Some members of the club applied new coats of paint on some classrooms and donated furniture and paid for the construction of artesian wells.
