Brgy Opao conducts monthly clean-up

CEBU, Philippines - To prevent flooding, barangay Opao officials, workers, and purok leaders gather today for a monthly clean-up of the village.

Opao Barangay Captain Lisa Ouano Icalina told The FREEMAN the cleaning is done every last Saturday of the month.

She said improper disposal of garbage clogs canals which causes flooding.

“Nakita man gud nato nga ang pagka clogged up sa atong mga canal maoy problema gumikan sa basura. Mao nga ato kini karong gipangitaan og sulbad,” Ouano-Icalina said.

She has also asked residents to volunteer their services.  (FREEMAN)
