Mandaue buys heavy equipment

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government recently purchased P20 million worth of brand new heavy equipment intended for construction works and road maintenance.

Arsenio Longakit, the sales representative of Civic Merchant, said the grader went for P11.8 million while the backhoe loader was sold for P7.7 million, all purchased directly from the Volvo factory in the United States.

Mayor Jonas Cortes had durability and savings in mind when he decided to buy brand new equipment.

The equipment has air-conditioning, are electronic, and fuel efficient. - THE FREEMAN
