Taxi driver loses day's earnings to woman, 2 men
CEBU, Philippines - Two men and a woman robbed a taxi driver Monday evening along the Reclamation Area in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Franco Alesna, 40, of M.L. Quezon in barangay Cabancalan, who drives a Zircon taxi with plate number GHL-708 picked up two men and a woman near a mall. He was told to proceed to Lapu-Lapu City.
Upon reaching Ouano Ave. at the Reclamation Area, the man sitting beside him announced a hold-up while the other man behind him pressed a gun against his nape and demanded for his money.
When he tried to resist, the man behind him struck him with the gun, which resulted to a cut on his forehead.
The robbers took his earnings totaling P4,800, got off his vehicle, and transferred to two waiting motorcycles.
Alesna went to the police. TRS Chief P/Insp Ramil Morpos said he took the driver to the Mabolo police station so he could check the Rogues Gallery.
Alesna has identified one of the robbers but Morpos won’t reveal his name until he can confirm that the robber, who is supposed to be behind bars, has already been released. - THE FREEMAN
