Paz to help firecracker makers to legalize trade

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government will help small and medium-sized firecracker makers in barangay Babag legalize their operations.

Mayor Paz Radaza said the city will support them once they legalize their operations.

The clandestine operation of firecracker makers in barangay Babag exists for many years now. There were attempts from previous administrations to form them into cooperatives but failed.

At least three cooperatives operating in barangay Babag.

Mayor Radaza said the city police office and officials of the Firearms Explosives Security Agency and Guards Supervisory Section (FESAGSS) of PRO 7 recently enlightened residents of barangay Babag on the importance of observing safety measures. (FREEMAN)
