Suspect in 2001 killing arrested

CEBU, Philippines - A man linked to a killing in 2001 in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, was turned over by the Zamboanga del Sur police to the Talisay City police station yesterday morning.

According to PO3 Arnold Damasco, Alejandro Sisona, 54, ran to Zamboanga shortly after the 2001 incident. Armed with a warrant of arrest for his murder case issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises the Zamboanga police accosted Sisona last October 2.

He was just sent here just recently as the police were affected by the heightened alert status in Mindanao following last month's conflict involving the military and Muslim bandits.

Before his flight, Sisona lived in Meadowland Subdivision, barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla town. (FREEMAN)
