MCPO beefs up security forces
CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office has beefed up its security forces in preparation for the commemoration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 and 2.
MCPO director Noel Gillamac said the police have tightened security starting yesterday in and around eight cemeteries in the city, including the North Bus Terminal and Pier 7.
SWAT personnel and sniffing dogs are assigned to the North Bus Terminal and Pier 7.
He also said vacation leaves of around three hundred policemen have been suspended.
He said intelligence personnel will be in cemeteries to prevent unscrupulous people from masquerading as priests.
The liquor ban is in effect on these days at cemeteries. (FREEMAN)
