CEBU, Philippines - A taxi driver jumped out of his cab after one of his passengers held a gun against his back and declared a holdup while in Carmen Village, barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.
Police identified the driver as Antonio Lerio, 37, a resident of barangay Lawaan, Dumanjug town.
Lerio told the Talisay City Police Station that his four passengers could be between 18 to 20 years old.
The robbers took Lerio's P2,650 and drove away with his taxi with plate number GXE-525.
Police found the taxi parked along the road in sitio Lemonsito, barangay Lawaan II of the same city.
SPO1 Mikie Espina and PO1 Stephen Sefuesca said Lerio was hailed at the corner of Sanciangco and Junquera streets in Cebu City.
Somewhere in Talisay City, one of the men told the driver, "Ayaw kahadlok aning akong kuyog, Bay, mga bata ko ni, ako lang ning gipangbunyagan."
The passengers then asked Lerio to bring them to barangay Cansojong and at this time, they were reportedly laughing.
They were near Cansojong when one of the men told Lerio to take them to Carmen Village, and there, one of them declared, "hold-up."
Lerio said when he felt something cold touching his back, he leaned to his left, and when he noticed that the door gave way, he pushed it, and jumped out.
Lerio then ran to the police station in barangay Poblacion to seek help. – (FREEMAN)
