Man, 16-year-old boy arrested for robbery

CEBU, Philippines - A man and a juvenile were arrested Saturday for robbing a Danish national who resides at P. Burgos Street in barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City.

The Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) and the Opao police station arrested Jose Brendel Marquez and a 16-year-old boy after their identities were established after breaking into Nikola Jacobsen Arne's home.

TRS chief P/Inp. Ramil Morpos said the boy was arrested after his parents turned him over to the police Saturday while Marquez was arrested yesterday morning.

The boy said he acted as the lookout while Marquez broke into Jacobsen's house by breaking a window and reaching for the door knob.

He said Marquez took a laptop worth P85,000 and pieces of jewelry.

The police recovered the laptop, which was sold for P5,000 in barangay Pasil , Cebu City.

Marquez and the boy are now detained at the Opao police station pending the filing of charges against them.
