Man arrested for gun possession

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested Sunday a drunken man in sitio Antonio Quadroplex in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City for gun possession.

Earl Villan, 35, was arrested after his siblings sought police assistance.

Villan, who was drunk at the time, threatened to shoot them.

 A witness said she heard Villan telling his siblings in the vernacular "Panggawas mo diha kay pamatyon ta mo (Show yourselves to me and I'll kill you.)"

The police seized from Villan an improvised single-shot gun and an M-16 rifle live bullet.

Before he was detained, Villan was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital for a liquor test. The test showed alcohol in his bloodstream.

A case for violation of city ordinance 434 and illegal possession of a firearm will be filed against the man.
