CEBU, Philippines - Thirty-two jeepney drivers were apprehended yesterday for violating a city ordinance that requires garbage receptacles in their vehicles.
Section 1D of Ordinance No. 96/022 as amended requires all public utility vehicles plying within the boundaries of the city to place garbage receptacles inside their vehicles to maintain cleanliness.
Violators of this ordinance will be fined P500 .
Once convicted, the ordinance provides a fine from P1,000 to P5,000, upon the discretion of the court.
Yesterday's apprehensions were done in barangay Ibabao.
