Rob suspect surrenders to clear name

CEBU, Philippines - A robbery suspect has surrendered to the police after he was positively identified by three people he allegedly had robbed Sunday morning along A.S. Fortuna Street in barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

Kimwell Albo of legal age from barangay Tabok, Mandaue City went to the Basak police station to clear his name.

However, when he was turned over to the Casuntingan police station, he was immediately locked in jail.

His alleged victims claimed he was the passenger of a motorcycle that pointed a gun at them.

PO2 Art Abatayo said the police have Albo's picture because he was arrested and detained for the same offense previously.

Rufo Bucog, 29, a member of the Philippine Air Force based at the Mactan Airbase, Jesusa Japon, 30, of A.S. Fortuna and Ann Pukong, 29, of Ceniza Street in barangay Maguikay were near a store when two men on a motorcycle approached them.

The passenger got off the motorcycle and pointed his gun at the three – Bucog, Japon, and Pukong – while the driver, who covered his face, divested them of their personal belongings.
