Five students from Cañete's MCC fail to secure certification for special eligibility

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - Five students of the Mandaue City College being run by Dr. Paulus Mariae Cañete have failed to secure a certification for special eligibility from the Civil Service Commission-7.

Joven Naraja, the public information officer of CSC-7 during a press conference yesterday said at least five students from Cañete's school failed to secure a certification of special eligibility from the Commission since one of the requirements demanded from students is a certification which would show proof that their school is accredited by CHED.

P.D 907 or the special eligibility for honor students grants "special eligibility "to students who graduated cum laude in college.

Naraja said they visited the commission early this year to ask for this certification so that they could be eligible to join government service.

MCC students and graduates can still take the eligibility examinations since the only requirement is that the student must be 18 years old and above regardless of educational attainment. - THE FREEMAN
