Talisay okays budget for road project

CEBU, Philippines - After getting a barrage of complaints, the Talisay City government finally approved the P1.1 million budget for the concreting of the road in barangay Cansojong.

Councilor Rodi Cabigas, chairman on council committee on Infrastructure, told The FREEMAN that the bidding for the project was completed the other day.

Based on the program of work prepared by assistant city engineer Gamaliel Vicente and approved by city engineer Audie Bacasmas, the road concreting in Cansojong will cost the city P1,131,000.

Cabigas said the entire stretch filled with potholes will be concreted using this amount.

The plan may not include a drainage system but Cabigas said the road will be elevated that rainwater will run through its sides.

"Hopefully, masugdan na," Cabigas said, adding motorists will experience traffic once the project starts. - THE FREEMAN
