Blue guard arrested for firing gun

CEBU, Philippines - An off duty security guard of a furniture company was arrested for indiscriminately firing his gun while allegedly drunk Monday evening in sitio San Jose in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Hernani Manigo, 30, married, a resident of barangay Maguikay was arrested by the police in barangay Casuntingan and the Mobile Patrol Group last Monday evening.

Witnesses pinpointed to Manigo as having fired his gun indiscriminately.

SPO4 Fernando Gabutero of the Casuntingan police said that prior to the incident, Manigo was drinking when he alleged that somebody struck him, grazing his back.

He said since he wanted to get even, he left to get a gun. On his return, he found out the person who had attacked him was already gone.

He said this prompted to fire his gun indiscriminately.

Police seized a loaded homemade .handgun.

Manigo is presently detained at the Casuntingan police station. — (FREEMAN)
