Consolacion tries to protect its roads

- Jose P. Sollano -

CEBU, Philippines - The municipal council of Consolacion has approved a resolution requesting the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) to refrain from issuing, including the renewal of crashing, quarry and hauling operations, permits in the town without the clearance and favorable endorsement of the mayor, the municipal council, and the barangay council.

The resolution, introduced by Councilor Iluminado Alin, states the town can closely monitor the operations of crashing and quarrying.

The town blames big trucks used by haulers for the dilapidated roads.

Councilor Alin said he hopes PENRO officials will coordinate with town officials. – (FREEMAN)
