Mandaue hosts DPWH 6th district eng'g office
CEBU, Philippines - Identification and implementation of projects for the sixth district would soon be a breeze what with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sixth district engineering office already in Mandaue City.
Sixth district Representative Luigi Quisumbing, during a press conference with reporters, said the implementation of projects in the sixth district, including the congressional district of Lapu-lapu, would now be easy because DPWH's sixth engineering office is now at A. C. Torres Avenue in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
Quisumbing said from now on the sixth district will no longer have to endorse its project proposals to the first engineering office in Cebu City, which takes time to approve since the office prioritizes Cebu City projects.
The creation of the office was made through the effort of former sixth district Representative Nerissa Soon Ruiz, which was finally approved by former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in August 2009, after Congress and the Senate approved it.
It is presently headed by district Engineer Santiago Suico Jr.
