CEBU, Philippines - A man was arrested and detained Thursday at the Casuntingan police station for allegedly stabbing his former live-in partner at the height of an argument.
Miraflor Gabatan, 41, of M.L. Quezon Street in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City told police his former live-in partner Julito Pino, 54, of Poblacion, Daanbantayan town came home at around 3:30 p.m.
It wasn't clear why they quarreled but at the height of the argument, Pino stabbed Gabatan and then fled.
Gabatan was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital and after treatment, she and a friend went to the police to report the incident.
But just as Gabatan and friend arrived home, they found Pino waiting for them. Neighbors quickly informed the police and was arrested.
SPO4 Hernando Gabotero of the Casuntingan police station said the couple had long been separated but Pino often visited Gabatan.
However, the couple would time and again quarrel with each other and all the time the man was allegedly drunk.
A frustrated homicide case is now being prepared against Pino who is detained at the Casuntingan police station. (FREEMAN)
