Two motorcycles stolen in separate areas in Mandaue
CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle-for-hire with a temporary plate number 76-0840 owned by Glonel Desphy was stolen at around 2:00p.m. Wednesday in barangay Basak, Mandaue City.
Desphy, 32, a habal-habal driver, told Basak police that he parked his rented motorcycle just meters outside their house in sitio Alinsug street in barangay Basak; and an hour later when he came to get it it was already gone. The said unit was owned by the victim's neighbor, a certain Baby Cayasan, 38.
The following day, another carnapping incident was reported in the same city; this time in barangay Tipolo.
Archer Son, 34, married, a resident of M. Lopez Jaena, barangay Tipolo, told Centro Police Station that his motorcycle (7319-GP) was carnapped while parked in a shopping mall's parking area.
Son said that he went to the mall at past 9:00 a.m. yesterday to buy something, but when he went out his motorcycle was already missing.
As of press time, police were still investigating the two incidents. — THE FREEMAN
